The Big Day!

It was a meaningful day on the 31 May 2010. Guess what  it was? Our school, SMK Seafield, as one of the schools selected for the BP myScience Project officially launch the programme on 31 May 2010 ( Monday ) grandly. This programme was launched by YDP PIBG Dato’ Abdul Rahman Bin HJ. Ali in our hall, Dewan Sri Kenangan at 1:30 p.m.

At 1:30 p.m. sharp, all the students gathered in the hall. When everyone was present, the National Anthem and the Selangor State Song were sang as a sign of respect to our country. Then, the student’s pledge was read.

 

Next, one of our school teachers, Puan Poh Bee Lee gave a short introduction to the BP myScience Programme. BP myScience Programme was then officially launched by YDP PIBG Dato’ Abdul Rahman Bin HJ. Ali. Next the BP representative, En Zulkifli Othman gave his speech on. 

Then, it was excitement as the school’s mascot for the Programmed made his appearance on the stage and gave out sweets to the cheering crowd of students.

The winners of the essay competition and karangan competiton on environmental issues were then announced. The winners for the karangan competition were Malisa Shereen from 4 Budi, Malisa Chan Bee Ling and Joshua Leow from 4 Damai respectively. For the english essay Competition, the winners were Jagan Narayanan from 4 Amanah, Olivia Phoon from 4 Cekap and Yeo Xin Ying from 4 Budi.

To liven up the occasion, there wes a sketch performance and rap performance. The audience had lots of fun and enjoyed themselves. Everyone was very happy and satisfied.

Our principle, Puan Teh Seok Im then presented a souvenir to En Zulkifli, the BP Representative for gracing the occasion. At last, the ceremony was finally over and everyone sang  the School Song wholeheartedly.

  1. The selection of turtle as the mascot for BP My science is really a marvellous idea! Through this webpage, I manage to learn the true reasons behind the choosing of turtle as the mascot. Furthermore, the turtle mascot looks so real that I wonder what it is’made’ of!
